Marine commandant supports cutting fighting machine

While saying that the nation's amphibious capability remains the Marine Corps' priority, the force's commandant said that he supports the cancellation of an amphibious fighting vehicle program by Defense Secretary Robert Gates as part of broad defense spending cuts announced Thursday.
