Protecting the planet also saves Marine lives

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. — The Marine Corps has fought to preserve freedom in the United States from the Corps’ inception. In the last decade the Corps has joined a different fight to preserve energy and fossil fuels in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint. Since 2006, the Marine Corps has funded research into numerous products that not only decrease reliance on natural resources, but more importantly, save deployed Marine lives.
