Names of 7 Marines killed in helicopter crash released

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) — The Black Hawk helicopter that crashed in dense fog during a training mission in Florida was carrying seven special operations Marines forces based in North Carolina, along with four National Guard soldiers from Louisiana. All were killed.

The boy who grew up playing soldier in his Michigan back yard was hailed by one of his superiors, Maj. Gen. Joseph L. Osterman, as a selfless person who put himself in the line of fire so that Sgt. Justin Hansen wouldn't be left behind.

2-star: Rescue efforts continue in helo crash

The WTI class will be the largest class to graduate from MAWTS-1. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Staff Sgt. Kon Biliu is originally from South Sudan. As a young man, he moved along with his family to Yemen where his father taught in high school. In the year 1999 his father lost his job as a teacher and they could not go back home to Sudan due to the ongoing civil war. They had no home country; nowhere to go. They were refugees. But that was all about to change.
